1.0	INTRODUCTION.

	This thesis advocates and defends the  position that the most
expedient  way to achieve  a computer vision  system is  to model the
relevent three  dimensional visual  geometry of  the physical  world.

Such a geometric model provides a  goal for image analysis, an origin
for  image synthesis,  and a  data structure  for real  world problem
solving.

	The chapters of this document  proceed from the general
to   the  particular  in   three  parts:   theory,  programming,  and
application.
